Energy Blue Print

primary energy consumption

Exploitation of the existing large energy efficiency potentials will reduce primary energy demand from the current 27,266 PJ/a (2005) to 22,084 PJ/a in 2050. This reduction in primary energy demand is a crucial prerequisite for achieving a significant share of renewable energy sources in the overall energy supply system, for compensating the phasing out of nuclear energy, and for reducing the consumption of fossil fuels.
